Musselshell Meadows _ Clearwater NF

The Musselshell OHV loop was created for beginning ATV or motorcycle riders and families in the Clearwater National Forest. The 12.5-mile loop features wide trails with gentle grades, ideal for a family outing. The trails are open only to vehicles 50 inches or less in width, so this is not a ride for UTVs. The route is 12 miles east of Weippe, near Orofino and Pierce. To reach the trailhead, take Idaho State Highway 11 to Weippe and go straight on Forest Road #100, known as the Musselshell Road. Go east on the #100 road to the trailhead by Musselshell Meadows and Musselshell Creek. Pick up Trail #505 and ride it to #505B, go right on #505B and then right again on Trail #5150 to ride around the perimeter of the Musselshell trail system. There are other smaller loops you can do inside the larger loop (click on map below for details). Bring plenty of food and water. No services.
