3 Best RV Rental Companies (Comparison)

1. Outdoorsy

First, on the list, we have Outdoorsy. Outdoorsy is considered the Airbnb of the RV rental world.

They allow everyday folks who own an RV to put it up for rent whenever they are not using it.

The perks of this are that you can earn some extra cash without putting yourself or your RV at risk because Outdoorsy offers great insurance coverage. Outdoorsy conducts DMV check for the person interested in renting.

FIY: To be able to rent from this website, you have to pass their application procedure, meaning that you can trust who you are renting your lovely RV to.

Overview & Rating

4.5/5

Outdoorsy was created by a young couple who are passionate about the outdoors. They quit their 9 to 5 job to chase their dream of being outdoors more. With that being said, they truly care about making sure that the customer has a smooth and pleasant experience.

Their drive to satisfy customers has made them grow to be in the top two RV rental companies in the United States. Outdoorsy offers rentals in Mexico, the US, and even Canada! You can pick up the RV and drop it off at any of their other locations like you would with any rental car.

2. RVshare

RVshare is very similar to Outdoorsy, but the main difference is that you can rent more than RV from other fellow travel lovers. Some other types of vehicles available for rent are motor homes, tent campers, camper style vans, travel trailers, and the best part is that you can even find pet-friendly options. If you are looking for an adventure on the road with your 4 legged best friend, RVshare is the best place to look!

  • Class B RV: $100 - $200 per night
  • Class C RV: $150 - $200 per night

Overview & Rating

4.3/5

While RVshare also offers insurance coverage, their limits are lower than outdoorsy, which is why customers seem to favor one over the other. RVshare offers $200 thousand in property coverage and up to $500 thousand on liability insurance. Another thing to keep in mind is that not all RV’s offer unlimited mileage.

Make sure to take a look at all the details of your booking, so you are not hit with an additional cost at the end of your road trip. Most RV’s will offer you access to their amenities like pots, pans, bedding, and more without an additional cost. Lastly, RVshare always holds a security deposit for all reservations. They will email you at the end of your trip to let you know when you will receive the funds back in your account.

3. Cruise America

Last and not least, we have CruiseAmerica. This company is quite different than the last two because this is a corporate company. CruiseAmerica is basically the Hertz or Enterprise of RVrentals. On their website, you can only find their corporate RVs up for rent. This corporate company is by far one of the largest in the United States, offering a lot of different pick-up locations.

Crusie America - Features & Benefits

  • Class A RV: $175 - $300 per night
  • Class B RV: $100 - $200 per night
  • Class C RV: $150 - $200 per night

Overview & Rating

4.2/5

CruiseAmerica has over 131 locations to rent from all over the United States, Canada, and even Alaska! They normally offer two types of models – a standard and a large. Since CruiseAmerica is a corporate-owned company they have stricter policies when it comes to mileage use. Each RV comes with a set mileage range that can be used without any additional cost.

If you got over the covered miles during your trip do not be alarmed. However, keep in mind that an additional cost will take place. Their set rate for extra mileage is .35 cents per extra mile (US Dollar).

An extra 100 miles will only cost you an additional $35, that will be added on to your bill once you turn the vehicle in. CruiseAmerica also offers two separate packages for anyone who does not want to worry about packing the tools needed for the trip. A personal kit will cost you approximately $60, and it comes with anything you will need for sleeping and taking a shower. The second package available will cost approximately $110, and it has all the tools needed for a camping trip.
